Research and Data

The Research and Data Subcommittee is charged with making empirical,
evidence-based recommendations to the Advisory Council.

The aims of the Research and Data Subcommittee are to:

Foster networking among professionals interested in human trafficking research.
Share data and data resources.
Identify and share potential research funding opportunities with the San Diego Regional Human Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children Advisory Council (Referred to as the Advisory Council).
Be a source for information on research related to human trafficking.

The Research and Data subcommittee holds its meetings and works in conjunction with the San Diego Human Trafficking Research and Data Advisory Roundtable (HT-RADAR) of Point Loma Nazarene University’s Center for Justice and Reconciliation. Meetings are open to the public and are held quarterly.

Together, the Research and Data subcommittee and HT-RADAR seek to:

Aggregate regional human trafficking related research.
Convene and facilitate collaboration between human trafficking data analysts and researchers working in the region.
Facilitate the networking between practitioners, data analysts, and researchers.
Identify potential human trafficking research funding for researchers studying human trafficking in the region.
Improve public knowledge of the results of research related to human trafficking across multiple disciplines and sectors through regular research updates.
